Lex Adventures Ruby (Hardcover) (ISBN-13: 9781737705772)

Lex Adventures: Ruby is a heartwarming children's story about friendship, responsibility, compassion, and the special bond that can form between a child and an animal.

At a reptile show, eight-year-old author Lex M. Avila met a tiny baby bearded dragon named Ruby. Something special happened almost immediately; the little dragon seemed drawn to Lex. Seeing their connection, the owner of Matson Farm suggested a unique trade: a baby bearded dragon in exchange for one of Lex's own books, Lex Adventures: Benny Shelly.

What began as a simple exchange became the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

As Ruby became part of Lex's family, Lex learned that caring for an animal means much more than simply having a pet. He learned how to prepare Ruby's home, provide the right food, keep her environment clean, pay attention to her needs, and most importantly, treat her with patience, kindness, respect, and love.

Through Lex and Ruby's adventure, young readers are introduced to the responsibility that comes with caring for living creatures and the joy that can come from building trust with an animal.

Designed, created, authored, and co-edited by Lex M. Avila, Lex Adventures: Ruby is Lex's fifth children's book, published while he was just eight years old.
