In Part II, students learn about secondary marginalization through selections that explore homophobia in black communities, the idea of the "other," and how same-sex marriage is addressed in the United States census. Part III features readings that examine the impact of geography, community, religion, and family on identity and the process of coming out. He serves on the American Civil Liberties Union of Oklahoma Board of Directors. Mauldin earned his B.A. in psychology and M.A. in human relations from The University of Oklahoma.
