About the Author Nancy Knapp is a retired educator with thirty-six years' secondary school experience in the Los Angeles Unified School District and twenty years' part-time experience as Director of Christian Education for St. Mark's Presbyterian Church in Lomita, California. She is a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, with a BA degree in business education, an MA degree in Secondary School Teaching, and an MS degree in School Counseling. A member of St. Mark's since 1973, Nancy and her late husband, Owen, interspersed raising a family with active involvement in the life of the church. These days Nancy enjoys her nine grandchildren and continues with volunteer church activities. She has been a deacon and elder and is currently Clerk of Session, and she is co-editor of the bi-monthly church newsletter. Nancy enjoys working with Presbyterian Women and ringing in the hand bell choir. She has especially enjoyed researching St. Mark's hundred-year history and sharing it in this book.
