Yamile McBride is a first generation American of Colombian, South American descent. She was the first in her family to have attended college, but didn't finish until after 15 years of starting because of life circumstances. She received a bachelor's degree from Salem College in Special Education and a minor in Communications. She taught English as a second language, Special education and secondary mathematics in the K-12 public school systems. She earned a master's degree in Education in Administration and Supervision from Liberty University. Considered a passionate and transformational educator she continues to work in the community as the founder of Latinas Finas de Las Carolinas (Classy Latin Women of the Carolinas), a non-profit organization promoting the empowerment and awareness of Latinas in the Carolinas. She and her husband Casey McBride founded McBride SOMOS Consulting a Blended Family Coaching Company. They are Blended Family Experts who co-actively work with blended and step families to achieve emotional health so that they experience a peaceful, loving, resilient and sustainable home. She is passionate and bold when working with step mothers, the children and young adults in these families. She and her husband were raised in blended families and understand the struggles and the negative statistics and stories around step families and are committed to helping families change these experiences. She believes that ALL families have a birthright to become peaceful, loving and resilient by using their pain and issues as their superpowers to create an incredible legacy.
