Love in a Different Way: A Journey Through Dementia (Hardcover) (ISBN-13: 9781834180830)

Sure, they say true love stands the test of time, but the Amarals show us that it can withstand the ravages of dementia and come out the other side sterling. Their book, written as an act of love, tells two stories: a loving wife thrust suddenly into the role of caregiver as she watches her life partner disappear into illness, and, through artwork and journal entries, the story of a loving husband who was trying to process and explain what was happening to him and ultimately say goodbye. Both sides of the story are represented in this rare and honest account of the dementia journey.

For anyone who is on the dementia journey themselves, this book will help them feel less alone, acting as a roadmap and bringing them the comfort and understanding they need to go through their own journeys.
