Lucia on New Ground - Library Edition: The Language Explorers Series - Volume 3 - Perspective (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798245061337)

(Book Three of The Language Explorers Series) (Paperback Full Color Library Edition)

A Thoughtful Story About Place, Perspective, and Understanding Where You Are in the World

Lucia is a bright young tadpole with a growing mind-and now, a growing sense that learning doesn't stay in one place.
Aerin is a steady, observant waterbird beginning to understand that location and timing matter just as much as words themselves.
Zorro is an enthusiastic fox who discovers that excitement can sometimes outrun awareness-especially when new ground feels unfamiliar.
And Mr. Bubo? He's the calm, mysterious owl who watches over all-and who understands that understanding where you are is often the first step to understanding what you are saying.

But this time, the world widens.

Ardea, impossibly well-traveled and unfailingly composed, seems to have been everywhere before-and reminds the group that context changes meaning.
Viajo, the confident traveler, feels perfectly at ease with new places and new paths, offering quiet reassurance that unfamiliar ground can still be understood.
Brash, bold as ever, struggles when situations don't follow familiar rules-and learns that knowing where you stand matters before you speak.

What begins as a simple realization-the pond is not the whole world-becomes a language-rich exploration of location, timing, and awareness, as the friends discover that words, ideas, and expectations change depending on where you are and what moment you are in.

Along the way, they encounter challenges involving:

Understanding where something is happening-and why that matters

Recognizing when timing changes meaning

Adjusting expectations when environments change

Seeing situations from more than one point of view

Realizing that context gives words their full meaning

With humor, warmth, and gentle insight, Lucia on New Ground guides young readers through the foundational ideas of place, perspective, and situational awareness-without ever feeling like a lesson.

As the story unfolds, young readers discover:

How location influences meaning

Why context matters as much as content

The difference between "here," "there," and "somewhere else"

How time and place shape understanding

Why perspective changes what we notice-and what we miss

How recognizing context helps language make sense

And as Lucia learns to orient herself on new ground, readers see that learning is not just about words-it is about understanding the world those words live in.
