Lucy's Fence is Carol Duncan Sweet's first novel, although her first volume of short stories, written when she was eight, received critical acclaim from her mother. Originally from West Linn, Oregon, she has lived in Seattle and Asheville, NC, taught English in South Korea and the Czech Republic, and has now returned to Milwaukie, Oregon. In 2007, Carol opened her small business, Write Here, with a mission of encouraging others who are called to the blank page. She coaches writers, both new and accomplished, helping them to find their voice and quiet the inner critic we are all too familiar with. She also offers editing and proofreading services.
