Pamela Henderson Monsef is originally from South Island, New Zealand, where she obtained her Trained Teaching Certificate in 1967. She then embarked on a 20 year career as a Classroom Teacher for 8 and 9 year olds in both New Zealand and Australia where she relocated and achieved a Bachelor of Education from Queensland University of Technology in 1993. Pamela also co-authored a Mathematics text book for Queensland Distance Education. Her three sons being well on their way to adulthood by the turn of the century, Pamela accepted a position abroad in 2001 as Mathematics Teacher at a prestigious national school in the Kingdom of Bahrain where she worked for the next 15 years. During this period she became the sole curriculum writer for the Grade 6 Math program. In 2012 Pamela remarried in Bahrain, where she and her husband continue to enjoy life at Hamala Beach resort on the island's west coast. Not quite retired, she stays busy as a volunteer consultant to the Bahrain Trust which is working to set up micro schools, primarily in Syrian refugee camps, plus some private tutoring, and of course authoring this book. For health and leisure she and her husband are both avid swimmers and sailors. Their 17 foot sailboat "Fiorella" is moored close to home, and sailing in the Greek islands is not far away via a short non-stop flight to Athens.
