Maids and Mistresses (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798340077295)

The century is nearing its end. People wonder whether ailing Queen Victoria will survive into the 1900s. At Denisthorn Hall, hard work and tragedy are interleaved with joy and some mystery. Masters, mistresses, maids and manservants depend on each other to get through the months, sometimes unaware of the problems they cause. Two other stately homes are of interest. Cheltenham House has a new tenant, and Temple Grove becomes a fashionable--almost perfect--home, due to an unlimited budget. What dramas unfold within those walls? Just like at Denisthorn Hall, they hold fascination and mystery. Follow Earl Croukerne, his wife and daughters, and the vast staff they employ. Follow friends and relatives as they contribute to the absorbing saga of Denisthorn Hall.
