xThe Author: Reinhart Frosch (born 1935) studied Physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich and at Basel University. He then worked at Stanford University (California), at the CERN (Geneva), and at the Paul Scherrer Institute (Switzerland). From 1990 to 2000 he lectured on the physics of music at the ETH Zurich.
