Resonators act as a frequency reference or to filter specific frequencies. xNicholae O. Lobontiu, Ph.D., is currently a professor at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He is also a research associate and instructor at the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Cornell University. He has done extensive work in the areas of MEMS, monolithic hinges, and compliant mechanisms. Dr. Lobontiu is the author of two prior books on hinge-based compliant mechanisms and the mechanics of MEMS and has published numerous journal articles and has given several presentations on the subject of nano/micro system modeling and design.
