Mentoring Black Boys to Become Kings: A Treatise on Being Black and Male in America (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798997460709)

Imagine being able to predict a child's future...not based on their talent, not based on their work ethic, but based on something they never chose... their race and gender. In America today... we can still do that. And nowhere is that more true than for Black boys.

Mentoring Black Boys to Become Kingsis that book that tries to find solutions to the predictability question. No book has challenged the status quo regarding at-risk children like this one. Moreover, this is the only book by a Black male author to reveal a behind-the-scenes look at institutional racism at some of the most prestigious organizations in the nation and end on a high note.

Mentoring is the start of a social justice movement to change the trajectory of the public school system, the criminal justice system, and society as a whole as it relates to Black males. It is a "call to action."

If you have an interest in at-risk children, such as Black boys, this book will fill your appetite for answers to the age-old question about how we as a society can uplift this population of the forgotten. It will guide you on how to take your desire to help and turn it into a one-on-one mentoring experience or an all-out mentoring program in your community.
