My OCD started in in kindergarten in Bayside, New York after I finished last in the annual gingerbread eating contest. After every bite, I spent ten minutes licking my fingers and washing my hands because I was afraid of germs. I was actually afraid of everything: even my underwear and I couldn't tell anyone. On my fifth birthday, I was arrested for standing on a garbage can and setting off a fire alarm. I managed radio stations for Scripps Howard, Clear Channel and CBS. I recorded my greatest hits album for iTunes featuring "Cannibals will eat you if they catch you," "Did you ever have to tinkle in a bar," "Bouffant baby," and "Feet have people." My wife was discovered in a 70's mattress commercial and worked in television news for 25 years. I was twice thrown out of the Peace Corps. Once at gunpoint. I travelled to Cuba. Performed in nightclubs, and brokered the deal between Obama, Castro and the Pope. Plus....high school reunions, reaching puberty, scabies, typhoid fever, and the evolution of purple toes to heart surgery.

Next to breast-feeding, Chuck Allen's main passion in life is making money. As a young man going on sales calls with his father, he learned how to barter toothpaste and aspirin for bubblegum. He also mowed lawns, operated several Kool-Aid stands, sold stale candy to unsuspecting neighbors and delivered newspapers 7 days a week. His first legitimate job after college was in sales and programming at a small radio station in Cincinnati, Ohio. In the 1970's, Chuck expanded his media career to include advertising agencies, dinner theatre and the Peace Corps. In 1980, Chuck joined Scripps Howard Broadcasting in Baltimore and worked for B104 radio for thirteen years, until the company liquidated their radio stations. Chuck quickly segued into print and introduced several niche publications to the Baltimore market that were eventually sold to Times Mirror and The Baltimore Sun. After working for Times Mirror for three years, Chuck worked for Clear Channel Broadcasting for eight years and then seven years for CBS. Chuck left CBS without being shown the front door by security to write this book, but remains a part-time consultant for their cluster of stations.
