Mischief in Mortlake (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798233670589)

A possible kidnapping, a saucy liaison with secret codes, and most shocking of all... a woman working in the village shop? Scandalous! What is happening in Mill-Upon-Mortlake?

Welcome to Mill-Upon-Mortlake, Somerset, England. This late Victorian-era village is picturesque, the apples are the best in the county, the locals are kind (as long as you're local, too), and mysteries are never far away.

Join Daphne Noble, a London lass who moves to Mill-Upon-Mortlake expecting to work in the village shop and keep an eye on her elderly grandmother, but instead ends up embroiled in one mystery after another.

You'll root for Daphne as her grit, gumption, and stubbornness slowly endear her to the locals - and turns meticulous, prim and proper bachelor Mr. John Gainsworth into her reluctant ally in detection!

Perhaps there's not only mischief in Mill-Upon-Mortlake... Could friendship and romance between a brash London lady and an old-fashioned country gentleman bloom as well?

In this collection, you'll receive two full novels, Scandal Comes to Somerset and Silent Night in Somerset. Can Daphne and Mr. Gainsworth solve a scandalous disappearance that threatens to close the new village shop? Can they keep the Christmas panto running and find a missing silver heirloom before its disappearance is discovered?
