Moonmere (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798189597695)

Some heroes are remembered. Others are erased.

Seventeen-year-old Brian Ashford has always believed Moonmere was nothing more than a bedtime story-a forgotten valley filled with witches, vampires, ancient bloodlines, and a castle where a man once stole the memories of an entire kingdom.

Then Brian chooses Moonmere for his Wandering Year.

From the moment he arrives, the townspeople stare as though they recognise him. His phone displays warnings no one sent. Graves appear and vanish. Creatures watch him from the forest, and strangers seem to know the silver crescent pendant he has carried since infancy.

But Brian's arrival was no accident.

Nine hundred years ago, a warrior named Lucien imprisoned the Archivist beneath Castle Noctis. The seal was created using blood that could never be rewritten-and Brian may be the last surviving descendant of that forgotten line.

Now the castle is waking. Memories are disappearing, old creatures are returning, and the people of Moonmere are beginning to forget who they are.

To survive, Brian must uncover the truth about his birth, trust a hero remembered as a monster, and decide whether painful memories are something to escape-or the very things that make a person human.

Because the Archivist does not simply want Brian dead.

He wants Brian to forget that he ever existed.
