About the Author Jean Hendy-Harris is a free-lance writer who was born in England and lives in New Zealand. She developed a keen interest in writing as a child but when leaving school at fifteen decided to try life as a nun for a short period before being shunted into nursing. That didn't last long either and she soon found herself doing the shorthand and typing she had been trained for. Later she worked as a night club hostess for a number of years before moving to New Zealand with her young son and marrying an Auckland doctor. She home schooled two of her children for ten years and also ran a service providing school holiday seminars for gifted children. Over the years she has been a short story writer for magazines and contributed articles on a regular basis on health and education to a variety of industry focused journals. She has three adult children and now lives in Auckland.
