Mr. Blue (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781025854878)

"Mr. Blue" is a celebrated work of Christian fiction that explores the radical pursuit of spiritual joy in the modern world. The novel follows the life of J. Blue, a man who inherits a vast fortune only to discard his wealth in favor of a life of intentional poverty and service. Inspired by the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, the protagonist lives in a large packing box on a skyscraper rooftop in New York City, viewing the world through a lens of profound wonder and religious idealism.

Through the eyes of a skeptical narrator, readers witness Blue's unwavering commitment to living a life of "holy folly." The story serves as a poignant critique of materialism and a vibrant defense of the transcendental value of the human soul. With its lyrical prose and visionary themes, "Mr. Blue" remains a cornerstone of 20th-century Catholic literature, offering a timeless meditation on what it means to truly follow one's convictions. This narrative captures the tension between societal expectations and the call of the divine, presenting a hero who finds ultimate freedom in detachment from worldly goods.
