Multi-Drone Coordination: Design basic fleet behavior, shared tasks, and safer separation logic (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798189668265)

Managing several aircraft at once involves more than giving each one a route.

Every vehicle needs a clear role, an assigned work area, current position information, dependable communication, and a predictable response when something goes wrong.

Multi-Drone Coordination provides a practical introduction to organizing small groups of unmanned aircraft without making the system unnecessarily complicated.

Inside, you'll learn how to:

• Define clear roles and operating models
• Choose centralized, distributed, or hybrid architecture
• Track position, battery, health, and mission status
• Divide work by zones, priorities, and time windows
• Handle stale telemetry and unreliable communication
• Validate coordinates and altitude references
• Create conservative collision-warning rules
• Test leader-follower, zone-assignment, and patrol patterns
• Use simulation and logs before field trials
• Plan responses to link loss, low power, positioning errors, and incomplete work

The explanations are conversational, beginner-friendly, and focused on supervised, understandable systems rather than advanced swarm theory. Readers work through practical examples, including divided surveys, status monitors, allocation boards, warning simulators, testing plans, and recovery checklists.
