A member of her writing group uses the opportunity to pen a true crime novel. Myaisha must discover which writer turned murder from a metaphor to a reality.

Assisted by members of the Greensboro Women of Color Writing Group, Myaisha searches for clues. However, questioning intelligentsia can be hazardous, and her best friend, Deniece, is strangely distracted. When the killer attempts to write a non-fiction obituary for Myaisha, she relies on the support of a dear friend. But this new sleuthing partner may have more in mind than assisting in an investigation. Their collaboration threatens Myaisha's relationship with AJ.

There is more than one mystery to solve, and the conference ends in four days. Time is short and Myaisha worries murder is easier-and safer-than fiction.
