Muri (Bad Dog): Pawprints, doggie language and changes your world (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781918130669)

Muri: (Bad Dog) is a lively and heartwarming children's story that captures the chaos, humor, and tenderness of welcoming a mischievous new pet into the family. Written by Patricia Karengesha with additional elements by Zimran Jacob, this tale follows Muri, a spirited black dog whose antics keep everyone on their toes.

When Grandma moves in with her two dogs, Muri and Hazvina, the household is instantly turned upside down. Unlike the calm and gentle Hazvina, Muri is wild, noisy, and endlessly naughty. He chews slippers, digs trenches, bites toes, and even steals birthday cake before the candles are blown out! From chasing farm animals to barking at every door, Muri's playful mischief brings both laughter and exasperation.

Through humor-filled verses, children see how Muri's presence disrupts routines, tests patience, and yet fills the home with unforgettable moments. Even in his defiance, Muri exudes a charm that makes him impossible not to love. His unpredictable behavior-whether running from baths, stealing food, or wrecking the house-becomes part of the family's story, one that everyone remembers with both groans and giggles.

But beyond the fun and laughter, Muri: (Bad Dog) also explores deeper themes of family bonds, responsibility, and the bittersweet reality of saying goodbye to a beloved pet. When Muri's energy finally fades and his time with the family comes to an end, the story gently shifts, showing children how love, care, and cherished memories help us hold on even after loss.

Filled with rhythm and rhyme, this book is perfect for read-aloud sessions, encouraging children to laugh, imagine, and reflect on the joys and challenges of having pets. The colorful adventures of Muri make the story engaging, while its heartfelt ending offers a gentle introduction to the concept of loss and remembrance.

Playful, mischievous, and ultimately touching, Muri: (Bad Dog) is a story that children and families alike will treasure-celebrating the chaos of life with pets and the love they leave behind.
