Having grown up in upstate New York, J. K. Wilde is accustomed to seeing, hearing, and experiencing the unusual. Most of her young adult life was spent meandering around the small shops of Woodstock, NY in and among the masses that seem to flock there on vacations and weekends (away from their NYC flats, apartments and daily lives). Here she found many interesting characters, as well as genuine people that have a different type of outlook on life. Some of which, influenced her writing, as well as her artwork. Many a weekend were spent sitting on the Academy Green, listening to street performers, as well as drawing and painting the scenery of life going on around her. Her interest in the horror, thriller, science fiction, and suspense genre was inspired by such writers as H. P. Lovecraft, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Anne Rice, Isaac Asimov, William S. Burroughs, Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley and many many more. With a thirst for knowledge and a hunger for the written word, she began reading at a very early age. Her first full length novel (she read) was Bram Stoker's 'Dracula'. After sinking her teeth into a novel of this caliber, she was hooked and has been ever since. Blazing through titles by the authors mentioned above, as well as many others over the years. After starting a family and moving to rural North Carolina almost twenty years ago, she had decided it was time to put her own pen to paper and let her ideas blossom. But it would be nearly two decades before she would share her talent with the world.
