Roger Thomas is a long-time league bowler. He grew up in Illinois, lived for 20 years in the Washington, D.C., area, and has been a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, since 1994. In the process, he and wife Becky have raised two kids, both of whom live in and around Colorado Springs. Roger has worked with youth sports since he was 16 years old, putting in time as a baseball coach and umpire, a soccer referee, a bowling coach, and coordinator of a youth bowling program. He was named "Volunteer of the Year" by the Bowling Proprietors Association of America in 2007. As an observer of bowling and bowlers, he offers a wry perspective on the sport. He has other writing projects in the works, including a book on bowling instruction, some science fiction short stories, and a mystery novel.
