My Childhood Back Garden: The Early Years of the Royal Horticultural Society Garden Harlow Carr (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781067638337)

My Childhood Back Garden tells the story of the making of RHS Garden Harlow Carr through the eyes of someone who quite literally grew up inside it. Blending accurate historical research with vivid, often amusing personal recollections, Caroline Smith offers a perspective never previously recorded. Born into the early years of the garden and living on site for the first sixteen years of her life, she brings to life the characters, challenges and quiet triumphs behind its creation. From muddy beginnings to growing recognition, this is both a revealing social history and a deeply personal celebration of the people, passion and perseverance that shaped one of the North's most cherished gardens.
