My Life as a Street Boxer and Boxing Journalist (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781807212025)

From the raw grit of granite street corners, and sweat-soaked training gyms, to the bright lights of ringside journalism, this memoir is a journey through the heart of boxing - both inside and outside the ropes. Tuthill was a street boxer for 14 years. Street boxing is any boxing match not sanctioned by amateur or professional boxing organizations.

As a young fighter, Tuthill traded punches in basements, parking lots, and high school gymnasiums, engaging in over 400 fights. These were battles without glamor, fought for pride, survival, and the thrill of proving yourself.

But the fight did not end when he hung up the gloves. As a writer, he stepped into a different arena, capturing the voices, triumphs, and struggles of the sports' greatest legends, while working for publications like Ring Magazine and The Sporting News. He interviewed superstars like Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Danny Lopez, Jerry Quarry, Bob Arum, Don King, Angelo Dundee and countless others. While listening to their stories, Tuthill learned about their strategies, philosophies and their will to succeed.

This book is more than a chronicle of fights and interviews. It is a testament to resilience, transformation, and the unbreakable bond between fighter and writer. Whether in the shadows of a hallway brawl or under the clear of championship lights, boxing has always been about heart.

Step into the world of this former street boxer and journalist, where every fight tells a story, and every story packs a punch.
