On July 21, 2020, during the height of Covid-19, my life changed forever. I sustained a traumatic brain injury at the worst possible time. It took years to discover who I was and learn to live comfortably in my own skin again. I decided to write about my brain injury and how I learned to cope with this new way of life. As I began to prepare to write, I reflected on just how many traumas I have survived in my nearly 50 years on this earth. I was blown away at how far I have come, so I decided to write about the many traumas that lead up to and include my brain injury. Many things no one in my life knew about until I shared them in this book. The reason I decided to be open and transparent about all I have been through is that I hope whoever needs to hear this message will receive understanding that you can heal from those wounds. Life is a precious gift, and we can learn to love and give ourselves grace - no matter when we become brave enough to start.
