Author T. Sanders [Tommy Sanders Jr. AKA Big Fats) was born and raised in Niagara Falls NY on February 24, 1975. The son of Tommy L Sanders Sr and Kathy Haslip. At a young age Tommy understood Love, both parents set the example in his life. When his father went to prison, Tommy's mother Kathy was left to raise him on her own. During that time a unbreakable bond was created, Kathy was everything to Tommy until their time was cut short by sudden death. Kathy kissed her son goodnight, said I love you to her baby boy, only to be found murdered the next day in a abandoned building. Tommy was crushed, which became a start to an end. He was moved from house to house getting in all types of trouble, stealing, breaking into homes and fighting, all while being bullied on the tuff Eastside of Falls and 12th Street. After living with his aunt and uncle, at the age of 13 Tommy's father came home and moved him into his home along with his girlfriend and 3 brothers and a sister. The home was wild, pushing Tommy to become a loner. Abused by his father he decided to run away. He began skipping school not giving a care about anything in life ended up in a group home called Lincoln Hall, fighting for his life on the tough side of East Ferry in Buffalo. Tommy ended up doing 18 1/2 months came home in June of 1992. Some years later with two sons and a daughter. Tommy continued to commit crimes, fighting and shoot outs, and at times running from the police. In and out of jail 6 times, he graduated to armed robberies which became his drug of choice. The power and control, the money the power and respect he demanded from people became a way of life. Lost in the streets he became cold and committed to life of crime. Drug dealers, pimps and shooters became his family, they became the people he looked up to. Eventually he made a name for himself in the streets as a person many knew not to cross. Crime was the thing to do, but in 2001 the last job was done and Tommy's world came to a complete halt. For a short time he went on the run and a year later he turned himself in to face the music. In 2003 he was sentenced to 18 1/2 years in prison. Today he is a free man, alive and willing to share his story.
