My Sheep Hear My Voice (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798240957185)

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."

Of all the pictures Scripture gives us of God and His people, none is more tender - or more searching - than this: the Lord is a Shepherd, and we are His sheep. But in a world crowded with competing voices, what does it really mean to hear His voice? And how does a sheep learn to tell the Shepherd's call from every stranger's?

In My Sheep Hear My Voice, Reverend Thomas Andrufski opens John 10:16 and 27 and walks the whole length of the Shepherd-sheep relationship. Writing with a pastor's heart and more than four decades of ministry behind him, he begins with the nature of sheep - how prone we are to wander, how helpless on our own - and moves to the heart of the Shepherd who knows His own by name and lays down His life for them. From there the path climbs through the costly redemption that bought us back, the daily discipline of learning to follow, and on to the eternal pastures that await the flock.

Along the way you will meet the God who calls His own by name, learn why a true sheep will not follow a stranger, and be reminded - through lessons drawn from real life and long obedience - that even a single degree off course will, in time, carry a whole company far from where it ought to be. Rooted from first page to last in the King James Scriptures, this is a book to read slowly, prayerfully, and more than once.

More than a study, My Sheep Hear My Voice closes with a complete ten-message Teaching & Preaching Companion - each message supplied with its text, central truth, a way into the subject, its main movements, illustrations, an altar-call application, and discussion questions. It is ready for the pulpit, the small-group table, or quiet personal devotion.

For every believer who longs to know the Shepherd's voice more surely, and for every pastor and teacher seeking to lead others into that same green pasture, this book is both an invitation and a guide. The Shepherd is still calling. The only question is whether we will know His voice - and follow.
