Nate Parker vs. The EMP Vol. 2: A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Survival Thriller (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798188561451)

Thirty-seven days after the lights went out, the pit has spoken and the old blood has a new heir. Nate Parker should be resting. Two cracked ribs, a broken hand, and a knee that won't hold weight say so.

Then the radio starts talking.

A calm voice on a loop promises food, water, and doctors at the Harlem River crossings. Then it reads five names as persons of interest, and every one of those names was spoken aloud in a single room eight days ago. Someone at that council sold them.

What follows is a hunt through a dead city where nothing is where it seems. A cane arrives on a stranger's arm with a message about Nate's brother. Seventy armed men walk north in good order under someone nobody can name. A pistol turns up in a trash can, fully loaded, never fired, stamped with two letters. And under the streets runs a copper wire that has been carrying messages for eleven years, worked by a man who planned for the end of the world before it arrived.

Nate has faced killers who wanted him dead. This one wants him discredited, so that when he says go save the one, nobody goes.

The clock is running on forty thousand people, one well, and a borough that cannot feed itself. Somewhere north there is land, timber, and a barn full of seed. Getting there means walking away from everything, and the man under the city has already decided what that will cost.
