Through a passion for self-care, sociology of culture, travel, Hawaii and nature, Valerie Reed created Valana Minerals, an all natural and vegan makeup company that also offers safer cosmetic education, coaching/mentoring and self-care retreats. Mrs. Reed has worked as a Sociology professor for twenty years, managed a mentoring program for sixteen years and followed her calling as a beauty entrepreneur for ten years. She has earned degrees in Sociology, Fashion Design and Merchandising and is a certified life and business coach. Through these experiences, Valerie brings an inspired and unique perspective to the understanding of self-care and the beauty industry. Meet Valerie Reed - My favorite places are surrounded by nature. My inspiration comes from the stunningly beautiful forested and coastal land and skycaps of Hawaii, California, and Brazil. I am inspired by the diverse cultures of these beautiful places as well. 

It wasn't until I overcame a severe illness due to mineral toxicity and cosmetics that I developed a passion for supporting natural lifestyle planning and design. I have helped educate thousands of women through self-care coaching and in making safer cosmetic choices through the natural makeup company I founded over ten years ago, Valana Minerals.
