Maybe it was because he was starving, he could have eaten a bear, and maybe that caused a block of his special senses. Ever since he'd learned, not only was all he'd dreamed while on the stake-out that day while lying on the cold hard ground wasn't real, but the stake-out and everything after it was a dream. The hospital stay was a dream-he'd never fallen and hit his head. Going home from the hospital with Sadie was also a part of the same dream. Everything was a dream except the psychic episodes-they were all real.
