Never Forsaken: Real Encounters with Jesus That Will Change Your Life (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798349328022)

There are books that argue, and there are books that remember. This is a book of remembering. It began the night Jesus came into a small bedroom and stayed until morning-not as a feeling, not as a figure of speech, but as a Person. He left a mark on her forehead in the quiet hours. Months later, angels sang inches from her ear in a parked car, the harmony so layered and so alive that the air itself seemed to be made of it. Money arrived at the exact hour it was needed, sent by a hand she could not see. A voice like distant thunder spoke her name. A hand passed through her body and the pain that had lived inside her for thirty years was simply gone. Once, she crossed over, and was returned.Never Forsaken gathers fourteen of these accounts, set down by a woman who did not arrive at faith through comfort but through necessity-through illness, through grief, through the long ordinary loneliness that most of us carry quietly and tell no one about. Each chapter follows the same gentle architecture: the encounter itself, told slowly and without ornament; the Scripture that illumines it, in the cadence of the King James Bible; a reflection that turns the lamp toward your own life; and a small, practical step for the days ahead. It is not a sermon. It is not a study guide. It is a record, and an invitation. If you have been tired for a very long while-if prayer has begun to feel like a closed door, if the noise of grief has left your house quieter than you expected, if you have wondered whether the God you were taught about as a child still pays attention to a person such as yourself-this book has been written for you. It does not ask you to perform belief. It does not ask you to summon feelings you do not have. It asks only that you read slowly, and that you let the witness of someone who has stood where you are standing speak into the room. What the reader will find here is not an argument for God's nearness, but a series of accounts that, taken together, return the heart to a truth most of us already know and have only forgotten how to say: that we are not alone, that we have never been alone, and that the One who has been near us all along has been waiting, with great patience, to be recognized.Read for grief. Read for fear. Read on a Sunday afternoon when the house is quiet, or in the middle of a sleepless night when nothing else is helping. Read it through once, and then return to whichever chapter the Lord uses to find you. You will know the chapter when you reach it.He is near. He has never been far. You are not forsaken. You have never been forsaken. And now, perhaps for the first time, you know.
