Naheen Madarbakus-Ring has over 20 years of experience in TESOL and English language teaching, with a particular specialisation in listening pedagogy and curriculum design. Her doctoral research focused on listening, and she has developed extensive expertise in listening tasks and materials for diverse learning contexts. Naheen has a strong record of research publications, workshops, and conference presentations on listening development. She is also actively involved in professional listening communities and special interest groups, providing valuable networks for collaboration, consultation, and project promotion. In addition to her editorial experience, she has contributed five chapters to edited volumes in the field. She is currently an assistant professor at the University of Tsukuba and resides in Moriya, Ibaraki, Japan.
Jonathon Ryan has more than 20 years of experience in TESOL and ELT, with a professional focus on materials development and educational publishing. He has a substantial track record in creating and publishing teaching materials, and brings significant editorial experience as a book editor. Jonathon has also contributed widely to professional scholarship through research publications, conference presentations, and workshops related to listening. In addition, he is an experienced academic author with 15 contributed chapters in edited books. He is currently a researcher at the Waikato Institute of Technology in Hamilton, New Zealand.
