Have you ever found yourself overwhelmed by your own intense emotions, unsure how to deal with them? I wrote this book in the hope that it might offer some help to anyone facing such emotional struggles.
For 30 years, I had been exploring the world of spirituality and believed I had grasped the ultimate truth of the universe-that everything in this world moves in perfect harmony with what one might call the law of love. However, three years ago, after losing my mother, I began to be overwhelmed by intense emotions. As the days went on, things only grew worse, and I found myself suffering deeply. Even though I understood-in my head-that this suffering must also be a form of love from the universe, it didn't make the pain any easier to bear. At that time, my only and desperate wish was this: to be free from the suffering immediately. That was all I wanted. Eventually, after much struggle, I managed to find my way out of that emotional storm. That's why this book centers on simple and quick methods-things I wish I could have taught my desperate self back then. Along the way, I drew deeply on the wisdom of many Japanese spiritual leaders as well as specialists, trainers, and great figures-as someone born and raised in Japan, and still living in Tokyo. When you think of global content from Japan, you may first think of anime, manga, or video games. But beyond those, Japan has many lesser-known yet wonderful things to offer. One of them, I believe, is in the field of spirituality. Today in Japan, there is a growing movement-still small, but steadily spreading-toward silencing automatic thoughts and "returning to the right brain." In addition to this, there are other spiritual and practical teachings from Japan that I believe are worth sharing with the world-such as a Japanese version of the Law of Attraction, a unique approach to gratitude practice, breathing methods used by revered Japanese figures, the importance of loosening the body, the positive effects of gentle actions and language on mental and physical well-being, and even the wisdom found in Japanese proverbs. This book offers an introduction to such spiritual and practical ideas from Japan, along with reflections on my own experience applying them when I faced mental health challenges-and how they helped me heal and grow. Information now flows freely around the world. However, perhaps due to the uniqueness of the Japanese language, I feel that while information from overseas often makes its way into Japan, it is surprisingly rare for Japanese knowledge and wisdom to spread outward to the world. So, I invite you to take this opportunity to explore the world of Japanese spirituality-to transform your emotional struggles into a journey of healing and self-discovery.Thanks for subscribing!
