No Great Tragedy: An Academic Novel (Hardcover) (ISBN-13: 9798886799828)

No Great Tragedy: An Academic Novel finds Professor Harry Hoyle guiding the Classics department at a university in the high desert American West through its final semester, after which certain members of his already scant faculty-but which ones?-will be fired.

Harry's own job is in jeopardy, as is his marriage. And he's broke. All this could be the stuff of tragedy, but he is no Agamemnon, no Oedipus, our only-human Harry. His world is neither heroic nor tragic, merely academic. And he's always been lucky. So, as Harry tends to departmental feuds and fusses, matters of money and marriage, and his valedictory seminar on Attic tragedy, he continues to hope.
