No Promises in Paris: A Later-in-Life Story of Love, Friendship, and Freedom (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798187295487)

At fifty-eight, Maggie Hayes has built a quiet and successful life in Alexandria, Virginia. Divorced for eight years, she runs her own interior design studio and has stopped believing that every empty space needs to be filled.

When she travels to Paris with three longtime friends, Maggie expects museums, good food, beautiful architecture, and fifteen days away from work. She does not expect Julien Mercier, a cultured French restoration architect who is three years younger than she is.

Their attraction grows through old covered passages, evenings of music, shared meals, and honest conversations about marriage, age, independence, and the lives they have already chosen.

Maggie and Julien know from the beginning that she will return to America. Neither wants another marriage, a move across the ocean, or promises that will become obligations. But knowing that their time is limited does not make what happens between them less real.

No Promises in Paris is a mature women's fiction novel about love after fifty, lifelong friendship, personal freedom, and a woman who discovers that something does not have to last forever to be worth choosing.
