The title of this book is born from a quote by John F Kennedy Jr. concerning the space program and the race to the moon: "We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win ..." 25% of the profits from the sale of this book will be donated by the author to the Tahoe Rim Trail Association and 25% will be donated to the Connecticut Forest and Park Association in the author's home state of Connecticut.
