Not Even When I'm Dead: More poems by WM. L. Maxheimer, II (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798353858157)

In the tradition of Anne Sexton, Sylvia Plath, Adrienne Rich, and Stephen Dunn, William Maxheimer is a modern formalist poet whose work is largely confessional in its themes. The poems rely on imagery and the juxtaposition of words and phrases. The usage is often unconventional, the metaphors discombobulated. The language can be terse, angry, and sometimes scary. The dark nature of his characterizations and word choices, at times, lends itself to a peculiar beauty.
