Not the Norm, A Small Town Story is a tale inspired by actual events, people, experiences, and true facts from a small town in western Pennsylvania. As the story unfolds, humorous and unexpected twists reveal a community whose accomplishments raise some remarkable questions. How did so many of its young people especially minorities achieve noteworthy success in education and careers? Why has this seemingly ordinary town produce such extraordinary number of successful individuals?

Did this small town, in its own way, fulfill Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dream where people would judge character rather than skin color? Did it embrace Quaker, William Penn's "holy experiment," where people of different backgrounds could be treated with equality in all aspects of life?

If these ideals truly shaped the town's remarkable outcomes, could other communities do the same?
