This book is the first edited volume on the concept of nutrient timing. Using this concept, individuals may improve performance, promote optimal adaptations to training, maximize recovery, and facilitate healthy interactions with their environment. Chapters cover the role of carbohydrates, proteins and amino acids, lipids, and vitamins and minerals in nutrient timing; pre-, mid-, and post-exercise nutrient recommendations for endurance and resistance sports; technology and innovation impacts on nutrient timing; nutrient timing programs; and nutrient timing in repair and recovery. The text uses an evidence-based approach in presenting this cutting-edge area of sports nutrition.
