Ogham Sorcery seeks to take readers to a deeper level of understanding on the path of Irish spirituality, showing that while it is widely known as a divination system, this only scratches the surface of the power contained in the ogham.
There is something missing in Irish spirituality. In Norse Paganism you can see the magick of the runes being used regularly. They are used in rituals, chanted, woven into bind runes, and used for spell work. The Irish have their own magickal alphabet, yet many have forgotten how to use it as anything other than a divination tool.
Ogham Sorcery provides real clarity on the evidential meanings of the alphabet's symbols and dispels the many falsehoods that have been perpetuated. More importantly, it details how the ogham alphabet can be used as a powerful system of personal sorcery. Together, Stephanie Woodfield and Nikki Wardwell Sleath provide instructions for a system in which a magickal practitioner can train themselves to be a conduit for such magick, and the authors also provide numerous suggestions for specific magickal techniques that can be utilized for many customized workings and situations.
Each ogham letter is explored in depth, offering information on its meaning as well as personal magickal experiences from the authors. You will learn how to utilize the ogham in ritual and spell work and create your own magical ogham combinations. A complete course of sorcery techniques, exercises, and works is outlined to guide you through every step.
Stephanie Woodfield has been a practicing witch and priestess of the Morrigan for over twenty years. She is the founder of the Morrigan's Call Retreat, a yearly gathering dedicated to the Irish goddess of battle and sovereignty. She is the author of several titles, including Celtic Lore and Spellcraft of the Dark Goddess, Dark Goddess Craft, and Call of the Morrigan Oracle: A 45-Card Deck & Guidebook. You can find her on stephaniewoodfield.com.
Nikki Wardwell Sleath has been practicing witchcraft for thirty years and was formally trained as an initiate and priestess in the Religious Order of Witchcraft. She has since founded her own private order focusing on American Witchcraft called the Society of Witchcraft and Old Magick, an occult training school located in Connecticut that also functions as a large coven community; it has been thriving and growing for ten years. Nikki holds a master's degree in integrative health and healing, and, in addition to being a full-time professional occult teacher and practitioner, she has been trained through to the highest level of shamanic dream teacher/facilitator in Robert Moss's School of Active Dreaming. She is also a Reiki master/teacher, shamanic Reiki master practitioner, and certified hypnotherapist. Nikki is a longtime devotee and priestess of the Morrigan, and her personal ogham sorcery methods have developed during her years of practice as a way to blend magick and respectful communication with her primary guides of the Irish pantheon. Nikki has utilized the system of training outlined in Ogham Sorcery and has documented the results of her efforts, which are included in the book. Nikki is also the author of You Might Be a Witch, The Goddess Seals, and Dream Sorcery.
