Now retired, he has worked for C. J. Pryor (the UK's largest privately owned bulk earthmoving specialist), Volvo Construction Equipment and Caterpillar Global Mining (Dortmund). His favorite role at Dortmund was as service engineer for the RH200/6050, the Dortmund product and mining class shovel he admired most of all.
