Old Business (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798177414522)

Some debts don't disappear. They wait.

For seventy-one years, the Hollingsworth farm has kept its secrets.

Gus Hollingsworth is sixty-three, widowed, sick, and determined to spend whatever time he has left on the land his family has owned for generations. Then Richard Conway arrives from the city, claiming to be a realtor interested in buying the property.

Gus knows better.

Conway's questions are too specific. His interest in the farm is too personal. And when he returns after dark with a gun, Gus realizes someone has come looking for something buried in his family's past.

The trail leads back to 1955-to an armored-car robbery, missing gold, and Gus's great-uncle Cecil, a violent man who came home just as the family farm was about to be lost.

Now the men who never stopped wondering what happened to the missing gold are coming back.

Gus doesn't have much time left.

But this is still his land.

And some old business is about to be settled.
