One of Them: The Leadership Method Nobody Teaches (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798246437872)

"Must Read" - Reedsy Discovery

"A thoughtful, practical leadership book that showcases how people do their best work when they feel trusted, respected, and supported." -- Charisma Enigma, Reedsy Discovery

What if everything you were taught about leadership was wrong?
For nearly two decades, Daniele Melfi has led retail teams across Europe, managing operations in Italy, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Through it all, he tested a single hypothesis: what happens when you lead without fear?
The results were consistent. Teams with turnover rates far below industry average. People who stayed for years in an industry measured in months. Employees who said, unprompted, "I don't work for the company. I work for you."
ONE OF THEM reveals the method behind these results. Built from direct experience, not theory, this book challenges the conventional wisdom that people need to be controlled, monitored, and kept slightly afraid.
Inside you'll discover:
- Why fear-based management produces the opposite of what it intends
- The three pillars of trust-based leadership: Be One of Them, Work for Them, Trust Them
- How to build teams that operate at full capacity without constant oversight
- The mistakes that destroy trust and how to avoid them
- A practical framework you can implement starting tomorrow
This isn't another leadership book filled with abstract concepts. It's a field-tested approach that works across industries, cultures, and contexts.
The best managers don't stand above their teams. They stand among them.
