One Summer (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798231954872)

One Summer is a novel that follows the physical and emotional journey of Julie, a free-spirited and talented young woman, through the summer that will change her life.

The protagonist moves through an apparently ordinary daily routine, while the changing landscape-from the French coast, through Corsica, to the streets of Mantua-provides a symbolic backdrop to her inner evolution.

The plot gains depth when Julie encounters a love from her past and recalls the injustices suffered in childhood. The wound that drove her to emigrate now merges with the call toward her homeland. The journey, whether departure or return, becomes an instrument of reconciliation, as does the ability to relive moments through memory of oneself.

Despite being cultured and deeply introspective, Julie tells her story with essential and crystalline language, revealing an extraordinary capacity for adaptation and determination.

The novel delicately explores themes of female independence, inner strength, and the salvific power of the present moment. It is a celebration of daily gestures, of tenacity, of the necessity to leave and find one's path, which, before any other place, finds fulfillment within oneself.
