Open for School During COVID: The District That Fought Preemptive Closures (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798387588396)

Were Open Schools a Secret During the COVID-19 Pandemic?

Stories of preemptively closed schools captivated our nation during and since the COVID pandemic, but what about districts that fought to serve their children with full-time, in-person instruction? Open for School During COVID chronicles one school district's struggle to serve children with open schools during the pandemic.

Many schools closed temporarily due to actual conditions, but they did not send kids home preemptively. Yet, we have heard very little about them or how they accomplished this. This is one district's real-time story, shared with the hope that many more stories will emerge of districts who were Open for School During COVID.

A collection of his weekly newspaper updates to his community during this difficult time, Open for School During COVID provides an almost weekly snapshot into an Oklahoma school districts fight against preemptive closures.

Join author Tom Deighan as the pandemic unfolds in real time in his district where he was superintendent during COVID-19. We must never let this happen again to our nation's children.
