Operation Amsterdam: A Mystery Crew Adventure (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798339322740)

Thirteen-year-old Harry Anderson's life in Hull is turned upside down when a family trip to Amsterdam reveals a dangerous secret: his mum, Sarah, an investigative journalist, is being threatened by a powerful crime syndicate due to her work on a corruption case. Despite Sarah's assurances that everything is under control, Harry can't shake the feeling that something terrible is about to happen.

When Harry's mum suddenly stops communicating and her last known location is traced to an Amsterdam port, Harry's worst fears seem to be coming true. His dad dismisses his concerns, believing his mum is simply engrossed in her undercover work. Frustrated and desperate, Harry decides to act himself. He convinces his friends, the brave and resourceful Karishma and the cautious but loyal Neil, to join him on a daring rescue mission.

Borrowing a boat from the Sea Cadets, Harry and Karishma embark on a perilous journey across the open sea to Amsterdam. Despite the challenges, including Harry's unexpected seasickness and the dangers lurking in a foreign city, their determination never wavers. Using the skills they've learned in the Sea Cadets, they track down Sarah's location to a shadowy warehouse guarded by dangerous criminals.

In a heart-pounding adventure filled with suspense and bravery, Harry and Karishma navigate the treacherous warehouse, face their deepest fears, and ultimately rescue Harrys mum. Their escape, aided by Neil's quick thinking and the intervention of the Amsterdam police, brings a thrilling conclusion to their mission.

Back home, the trio faces the consequences of their dangerous adventure but emerge stronger and more confident. As they paint the hulls of the Sea Cadet boats, a punishment for their rule-breaking, they reflect on their journey and the skills and courage they discovered within themselves. It doesn't take long however, before a new adventure begins to take shape.

This book is an action-packed adventure novel that explores themes of bravery, friendship, and self-discovery. Harry, Karishma, and Neil prove that with determination and teamwork, even the most daunting challenges can be overcome. Perfect for fans of thrilling adventures and heartwarming stories of growth and resilience, this novel will leave readers eagerly anticipating the trio's next escapade.
