He is a past World President of the International Association of Dental Traumatology and an honorary life member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists and the Australian Society of Endodontology. He has published seventeen book chapters, over 70 peer-reviewed publications, and edited books on orofacial pain. He was recently appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia for services to dentistry.
