The Editor: Albert Leong is Associate Professor of Slavic Languages, Head of the Department of Russian, Director of the Russian and East European Studies Center, and Project Director of the Summer 1986 Intensive Workshop in Chinese and Russian at the University of Oregon. He received his B.A., MA., and Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures from the University of Chicago and has taught Russian language, literature, and culture at the University of Oregon since 1966. He is editor of The Millennium: Christianity and Russia (A.D. 988-1988), Space, Time, and Synthesis in Art: Essays on Art, Literature, and Philosophy by Ernst Neizvestny, and Studies in Comparative Communism («Socialist Realism: Cinema and the Arts»). His current book project is a biography, The Art of Freedom: Ernst Neizvestny and Russian Culture.
