"Especially when everyone should be here celebrating Christmas Eve." Walking over to Jana's ice cream cone quilt, remembering aloud, "Jana's party for her first year living in Summit was such fun."

Elena's face glowed in the Christmas lights. "Making Christmas quilts."
"Even before our quilting room, Nonna Patti and Mom would slide the long bench tables together so we could work on our Christmas quilt while the Parlor was open."
Elena giggled, saying, "Every year, Helen would offer her shop for us to use."
"Every year, Nonna Patti would say no, we had our quilting room."

Looking around at the walls as she walked around the Parlor, Elena stopped before me, "Sofia, do you notice something missing?"
