Our First One Hundred Years: The Ingleside Book Club of Morgantown, 1923-2023 (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798388775283)

When a group of young women came together to organize a book club in 1923 in Morgantown, West Virginia, few could have imagined that 100 years later the club would still be meeting. Current members have compiled a fascinating history of the Ingleside Book Club beginning in its earliest days in the South Park neighborhood when meetings were held in homes and often featured musical selections and guest speakers. Today's Inglesiders are a dynamic group of mostly retired professionals who each year are assigned a topic to research and then required to give an oral presentation. Books are exchanged but not discussed.

Decade by decade, you will discover which books members chose to share, what programs were presented and how lasting friendships were forged. Readers will see that Inglesiders have continued to value tradition while adapting to changing times. This is a delightful story that celebrates 100 years of women who enjoy literature, learning and each other.
